MINI Crossman Goes On All Fours
The beefed up, four wheel drive MINI Crossman will be on its way to the UK sometime in 2010. This will be the first MINI to the built outside of the UK as Australian vehicle assembly manufacturer Magna Steyn will get the job.
The new MINI Crossman will feature a full-time 4×4 four wheel drive system designed by German transmission specialist - Getrag. Ride height will be increased to take care of rough terrain although the MINI Crossman is not expected to be a full-blown off road vehicle.
Available engine sizes will be 118bhp 1.6 litre Cooper, 109bhp 1.6 litre diesel Cooper D and a 173bhp 1.6 litre Cooper S. All engines will use a six speed manual or automatic transmission.
